On behalf of the Donia Human Rights Center, I hope that this season offers you an opportunity for hope and joy. We at the Donia Center continue with our mission of educating Michigan students and the public about the challenging human rights issues of our time. This fall we welcomed our inaugural group of 16 undergraduates participating in the Donia Human Rights Fellows Program. Our fall 2021 presentations -- in-person, and with many online attendees as well -- featured leaders in human rights discussing the legacy of 9/11 for human rights protection; the challenges of accountability for atrocities in Syria's civil war; and the human right to a clean environment. The Center will continue to explore and, we hope, enlighten, on a wide range of human rights issues, involving different human rights violators, defenders, victims, and institutions. And we will continue our sponsorship of student research and internships.
