PPE is very pleased to welcome Professor Meena Krishnamurthy to the program and to the Philosophy department. Professor Krishnamurthy is the first faculty member to be hired directly under the auspices of the PPE Program. Her disciplinary home is in Philosophy, but her interests extend well beyond it. She works in social and political philosophy, with a particular interest in democratic theory. She has written on global justice and poverty, and is currently working on the idea of distrust, covering political thinkers such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, Mahatma Gandhi, and B.R. Ambedkar. She is going to be teaching courses in philosophy and PPE beginning in winter 2016.
