Giving Blueday: Support Current Students

Giving Blueday is March 18, 2026

Gifts to PitE allow students to engage in projects, research, internships, and field work that examine real-world problems and provide leadership immersion experiences. These experiences enable students to integrate and apply their skills to complex environmental and sustainability problems in ALL fields. PitE is a great example of interdisciplinary work in action, as our students are well-versed in the natural science, social science, and cultural impacts of climate change. To continue providing PitE’s amazing experiential learning opportunities, we need your help. Please consider supporting not just our program and our students, but also our ability to teach them the important environmental skills they will use to help save the Earth.

How Do We Use Giving Blueday Gifts?

Student Scholarships

"Receiving a scholarship from PitE eased the financial pressure I faced and allowed me to focus more fully on my time at the Biological Station. This scholarship made my trip possible, and I am truly grateful." - Alayna (Class of 2027)

"I took a course abroad in Sustainable Business Strategy, where I received unreplicable hands-on experience working with local small-business owners to workshop sustainable initiatives for simultaneous economic and environmental efficiency. This was an incredible experience where I solidified crucial skills in environmental business." - Victoria (Class of 2025)

Student Research

“A five-week trip to Naxos, Greece allowed for a research experience that taught me much more than any textbook or even US research trip could have provided. My personal research focused on how the aging of dry stone walls, important features of the Naxian landscape, may impact the reptiles and amphibians that rely on them. I’ve seen the value and challenges of academic research up close and that insight will help guide my next steps after college and throughout life. I will forever be extremely grateful for the Foufopoulos lab, Collin Richter, and especially the Program in the Environment for providing me with funds, guidance, opportunity, and an overall transformative experience.” - Ivy (Class of 2027)

Student Events

Giving Blueday funds allow PitE to host events for students throughout the year. Our most popular events, Pizza with Professors, the PitE Senior Celebration, the Welcome Back Ice Cream Social, and so many more are only possible because of supporters like you.
