The U-M Museum of Paleontology is happy to welcome Anne Kort, a new member of the prestigious Michigan Society of Fellows who will be joining the Museum of Paleontology this Fall as a postdoctoral fellow and assistant professor.
Anne is from Minnesota and pursued her B.S. degree at the University of Minnesota. She has recently graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington (2023).
Her research focuses on the evolution of locomotor adaptations in mammals and their association with environmental change. Her previous work has documented the evolution of lumbar vertebrae during the Paleogene, a time when changing climates led to forest fragmentation and the evolution of open woodlands.
Welcome, Anne!
