"Michigan Botanist" Pays Tribute to Ed Voss
The Michigan Botanical Club’s peer-reviewed quarterly journal The Michigan Botanist has dedicated its current issue to Ed Voss, the former University of Michigan Professor of Botany and Herbarium Curator of Vascular Plants, who passed away February 13, 2012.
Ed’s focus was on the vascular plants of the Great Lakes region and his contributions were many. In addition to his career at the University, he was a long time instructor atThe University of Michigan Biological Station and served in an editorial capacity on many publications including The Michigan Botanist, which he founded, for 15 years. His most noted accomplishment was the three volume set of Michigan Flora which is still considered “the source” for flora in Michigan and Great Lakes region.
