In this study, researchers explored two questions: Do plants with more water in their tissues change more as they dry? And can measurements of dried specimens be used to accurately estimate the size and shape of fresh plants?
Recently, art students visited the U-M Herbarium for a hands-on program that brought science and art together. Working from specimens in the Herbarium’s collections, the students observed plants closely and translated their observations into original art.
