About
George Milne earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Stockton State College, his master’s degree in Humanities and Social Thought at New York University and his Ph.D. in US History at the University of Oklahoma. He is currently an associate professor in the History Department at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. His monograph, Natchez Country: Indians, Colonists, and the Landscapes of Race in French Louisiana (University of Georgia Press, 2015), focuses on cross-cultural relations in the early American South in the early 1700s. His research interests include historical cartography, the Atlantic World, and European colonial projects during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
