The Eisenberg Institute for Historical Studies will award up to six Graduate Student Research Fellowships in the amount of $5,500 each for the 2023-24 academic year. These fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis. They aim to assist outstanding graduate students in pursuing their dissertation research. This fellowship program has been funded by a generous gift from Kenneth and Frances Aftel Eisenberg.
The institute invites applications from University of Michigan graduate students in History and joint-History programs who are entering at least their second year of graduate training.
Graduate Fellows form a core part of the institute community and are expected to participate regularly in institute events. Graduate Fellows will collaborate in designing/organizing the Friday workshops presented in 2023-24. Fellows will convene in April or May 2023, shortly after the awards have been announced, to begin the planning process. Eisenberg fellows have the opportunity to workshop an article, chapter, or other project with the institute community during their fellowship term.
This application is due February 24, 2023. Link below for additional details. Both application components may be submitted via email.
