Graduate Student Instructor
About
Zach is a Ph.D. student in Mathematics, broadly studying probability and complex analysis in the context of random tilings. For several semesters, he has taught and co-coordinated courses in the University of Michigan's introductory calculus sequence (MATH 105, 115, 116, 215).
Zach is excited to work with COMPFOR students because of the inherent creativity that comes with computer programming. He has used the block-based programming language Scratch for many years for his own creative pursuits, and he is excited to promote the creative aspects of programming to COMPFOR students.
When not working on math or teaching, Zach enjoys playing (and occasionally programming) video games, composing (and occasionally performing) music, spending quality time with friends (and occasionally family), and solo traveling to cities in the United States (and occasionally Canada).
Zach serves as a GSI for COMPFOR 121 - "Computing for Creative Expression" in FA26.
