The PCAS Strategic Fund helps to provide learning and leadership opportunities for PCAS faculty, staff and students through curriculum development, invited guest seminar speaker events, faculty and staff skill-building training and professional development workshops, and our student-led Peer Mentor program. It will help us provide technology resources, build community among our students, and create an environment that encourages discovery and prepares them for impactful work in today’s - and tomorrow’s - society.

The digital world impacts the lives of everyone on earth
Undergraduates need to be able to enter the workforce today with a background in the role of computing in society, including familiarity with manipulating large data sets and some knowledge of coding. PCAS will prepare students to integrate computation into their problem-solving, creative practices, and analytical toolkit. PCAS students will know how to analyze, critique, design, and invent with technology. PCAS graduates will be “conversational programmers” who understand the task of software development, know the language and specialty terms of programmers, and can facilitate communication between software developers and other parts of an organization.
