About
Katie Waddle is a fifth year graduate student in the math department studying algebraic and geometric combinatorics with Sergey Fomin. She is particularly interested in frieze patterns and the Catalan numbers, and regularly uses Sage (built on Python) in her research.
Katie cares deeply about making the math and computer science community more humane and inclusive for people who have been historically underrepresented. She hopes to one day be a math professor and help bring more women and non-binary folks and people of color into the field.
Outside of East Hall she can be found biking, swimming, swing dancing, spending time with friends and family, and making pie.
Katie serves as a GSI for COMPFOR 221: "Digital Media with Python" (FA24)
