Edward Ionides, a Professor of Statistics, Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies, and Director of Undergraduate Programs, has been elected as Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. Its fellow designation has been a significant honor for more than 85 years. According to the IMS website, Ionides is being recognized for "distinguished contributions to the theory and practice of statistical inference for partially observed stochastic dynamic systems, with applications including infectious disease transmission."
All of the new IMS Fellows will be honored at the IMS Presidential Address and Awards Ceremony at the Joint Statistical Meetings in Toronto.
