Seed funding for MCDB faculty to initiate new research projects and help them compete for external funding:

  • We have over 35 internationally recognized faculty conducting cutting edge research in molecular life sciences
  • Our faculty are leaders in the fields of Biochemistry, Cancer Biology, Cell Biology, Computational Biology, Developmental Biology, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Plant Molecular Biology, and Structural Biology. We can’t wait to see what’s next!

Support for graduate students and postdoctoral research fellows:

  • MCDB offers full funding to PhD students so they can focus on their training. We also offer assistance to attend conferences and apply for research grants. Help us support future generations of researchers!
  • MCDB supports ~30 Postdoctoral Research Fellows.

  • The MCDB Molecular Bioscience Core, Imaging Core, and shared lab spaces feature high-tech equipment that must be continuously maintained and updated to ensure our research is at the forefront of discovery.

Support for departmental activities that promote community and collaboration:

  • MCDB faculty value mentoring, collaboration, and fostering student’s scientific growth. 
  • The MCDB Community Engagement Comittee works toward buidling a sense of Community through social events, professional development, and climate improvement.
