This course focuses on the academic skills that scholars, researchers, faculty, and other academic professionals in all disciplines need to succeed in the academic community. Key course components include:
- Research writing
- Poster and conference presentations
- Leading and participating in formal discussionsInformal interactions in the academic community
- Extensive individualized instructor feedback will help participants at all levels of English proficiency improve their accuracy, fluency, and delivery style in both professional and social settings.
There is a course fee for participation. Participants are encouraged to seek partial or full funding for the course fee from their respective department or sponsor.

Course Details for Winter 2024
Day/Time: Wednesdays 12:00-2:00pm (ET)
Dates: January 24 - April 3 (10 sessions, no class February 28)
Location: 955 Weiser Hall
Course Fee: $1,200*
*Note: There is a required $1200 course fee for all participants. Some departments/sponsors cover all or part of this fee. Check with your administrator.
