About
Christian K. Patterson is a Music Therapist and MPH candidate in Health Behavior and Health Equity here at the University of Michigan.
As the founder of Bringing Expressive Arts Therapies Together (B.E.A.T.T. Space), he works to expand the accessibility and impact of Arts based practices in healthcare.
Christian is pursuing research that examines the relationships between mental health, identity, and arts engagement through a lens of Public Health programming and policy. As a Sonic Artist, Christian utilizes sample-based music as a method of historical analysis, bridging cultural memory, lived experience, and contemporary health narratives to explore how Art can function as both a reflective and transformative tool for individual and community well-being.
