Azadeh Shahshahani, an alumna of the Center for Middle Eastern and North African Studies Master’s Program, is a human rights attorney and advocate currently working for Project South as their Legal & Advocacy Director. On September 22, 2020, Shahshahani was featured in an interview conducted by Amy Goodman of Documentary Now!, where she discussed the complaint filed about abuses at Irwin County Detention Center in Georgia.
