CMENAS Symposium. Climate Change and Crisis in the Middle East

This interdisciplinary symposium focuses on contemporary and historical cases analyzing the relationship between climate change and social conflict in the Middle East.

The symposium will feature two paper presentations (each followed by a brief Q&A) and a round table with three panelists followed by an open floor discussion. Presentations and discussion will address methodological issues and current politics.

Hannu Juusola, professor of Middle Eastern Studies, University of Helsinki; Jeannie Sowers, professor of Political Science, University of New Hampshire.
