Please join us via zoom this weekend, May 20th (Friday) and 21st (Saturday), for the 26th annual Comparative Literature Intra-Student Faculty Forum (CLIFF).
This year’s theme, Enchanting Literatures, investigates creative and critical explorations of world literatures, temporality, enchantment, and their intersections.
We are honored to be joined this year by keynote speaker Michael Allan, scholar of literature, film, and media, editor of Comparative Literature, and Associate Professor of Comparative Literature at the University of Oregon, whose publications include In the Shadow of World Literature: Sites of Reading in Colonial Egypt (Princeton 2016, Co-Winner of the MLA Prize for a First Book), as well as select pieces in such journals as PMLA, Modernism/Modernity, Comparative Literature Studies, Early Popular Visual Culture, The International Journal of Middle East Studies, and the Journal of Arabic Literature. The keynote, "Picturing Enchantment: Archival Looks and Cinematic Worlds," will take place on Saturday, May 21st at 4 PM.
