Professor Frieda Ekotto published Race and Sex across the Atlantic: The Color of Black in Literary, Philosophical, and Theater Discourse (Lexington Books, 2010) and co-edited Voix du Monde: Nouvelles Francophones (Paris, 2011).      

Professor David Halperin received the James Robert Brudner '83 Prize for LGBT Studies and Activism from Yale University for 2011. The collection Gay Shame, which he edited with Valerie Traub, was a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award in 2011.

Professor Kader Konuk published East West Mimesis: Auerbach in Turkey (Stanford University Press, 2010).

Professor Christi Merrill was awarded a Human Rights Fellowship from the Center for International and Comparative Studies, to develop a new course on "Translating Human Rights." Her translation of Vijay Dan Detha, Chouboli and Other Stories, was published by Fordham Press in New York and Katha Press in New Delhi (2010).  

Professor Benjamin Paloff published a book of poems entitled The Politics (Carnegie Mellon Press, 2011), and a book of translations entitled Lodgings: Selected Poems of Andrzei Sosnowski  (Open Letter, 2011).  

Professor David Porter published The Chinese Taste in Eighteenth-Century England (Cambridge University Press, 2011).  He received a 2011-2012 fellowship at the Michigan Institute for the Humanities, to conduct research for his next project, "English Literature of the early Qing Dynasty: A Study in Historical Cosmopolitanism."

Professor Yopie Prins received a 2011 Faculty Recognition Award from Rackham Graduate School.   

Professor Xiaobing Tang received a 2011-2012 fellowship at the Michigan Institute for the Humanities, to conduct research on "Scenes and Visions: Contemporary Chinese Visual Culture." He also curated a special exhibition for the University of Michigan Museum of Art (July-October 2011) and edited the exhibition catalogue, Multiple Impressions: Contemporary Chinese Woodblock Prints.  

Professor Silke-Maria Weineck received a Michigan Humanities Award and funding from the Associate Professor Support Fund to conduct research for her book, "The Laius Complex: Politics and Tragic Paternity."
