The Ann Arbor Palestine Film Festival showcases films about Palestine and/or made by Palestinian filmmakers during an annual festival held in the city of Ann Arbor. By amplifying Palestinian voices through the screen arts, the film festival aims to educate the community of Ann Arbor about the arts, culture, politics, and history of Palestine. The film festival is an independent and non-sectarian student-led organization.
The Ann Arbor Palestine Film Festival was founded in 2008 by a group of University of Michigan students. Since then, three successful festivals have been held in the springs of 2009, 2010 and 2011. In the Fall of 2014, a group of new undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Michigan came together to reintroduce the Ann Arbor Palestine Film Festival to the city of Ann Arbor.
