The BLI Leadership Retreat in Detroit
2026 Theme: Strengthening Connections Between Communities and Stewarding Peace
Today’s leaders must contend with many challenges locally and globally. As a community of leaders, we have identified several interrelated challenges that we want BLI students to contemplate, collaborate, and engage with. We believe building capacity in these areas will prepare Michigan students to be effective leaders who address these BIG questions with grace and humility. Our 2026 theme is Strengthening Connections Between Communities and Stewarding Peace!
During this retreat, we will hear from leaders who have made Detroit their home and learn how they contribute to their communities. This year’s retreat focuses on community building, offering meaningful experiences and reflections. Attendees will hear from inspiring Detroit leaders, visit iconic landmarks, and enjoy meals at unique local restaurants. The retreat includes engaging activities, reflective sessions, and leadership development to foster personal growth and connection.
