Simon studies non-sovereign tax haven states in the Caribbean and the history of mineral extractive financial capital outflows in Southern Africa from the 19th century. He explores the conditions for the formation of offshore financial centres to reflect on the relationship of his broader interest in international political economy, intellectual history, and political thought.
