Ph.D. Program: Egyptology
Heidi Hilliker (she/her) is a PhD Candidate in Middle East Studies and a fellow in the Museum Studies Certificate Program at the University of Michigan. Her academic focus centers on Egyptology, archaeology, and museology, with a specific research interest in the social context of textile production, communities of practice, and sensory archaeology. Her work is inherently interdisciplinary, drawing on diverse sources such as texts, archaeological material, and visual representations to provide a comprehensive understanding of textile labor.
In addition to her background as an archaeologist and historian, she has years of experience in the museum field, spanning various aspects of museum operations, including museum education, community engagement/collaboration, and collections-based scholarly research.
