About
Abderrahim Er-Ragragi is a PhD student at the Department of Middle East Studies, focusing on the fields of Sociolinguistics, English as an SL in Morocco, and 2nd Language Acquisition. Abderrahim is also a Fulbright Alumnus. He served as a Foreign Language Teaching Assistant and a Cultural Ambassador at the University of Georgia in 2019-2020. In 2020-2022, He worked as a Graduate TA, teaching Arabic at the Department of Religion at the same institution. His research was about the reciprocality of Language and Religion and their role in the construction of religious and linguistic identity. His interest in the field of Middle Eastern Studies has been shaped by the ways in which he has navigated the different linguistic landscapes and soundscapes in Morocco. Back in Morocco, He worked with Amideast, Middlebury, and the University of Mohamed V as a Language Instructor, Language Partner, and Chaperon.
