Assistant Director, Advisor, Housing Coordinator
About
Gayle Green is the Assistant Director in the LSA Honors Program. In that role, she oversees the Honors admissions process, New Student Orientation and Honors Housing. She is also an academic advisor and member of the Honors Academic Board.
Gayle earned her BA from Vanderbilt University, majoring in Public Policy. She went on to earn her AM from the University of Chicago, in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences. Her PhD work (ABD) at Stony Brook University (SUNY) was in Sociology, focusing on gender and higher education. She was Visiting Faculty in Sociology at Vassar College and then began working in Honors education, first at Eastern Michigan University, then at U-M.
Outside of work, Gayle enjoys cooking and running, as well as spending time with her family.
