Denise Guillot is an Academic Advisor in the Honors Program. She supports students as they address a variety of academic and life goals, but she is also advises Honors students and alums who are pursuing law school. She has been involved in campus committees dedicated the University's goals of creating a welcoming and supportive campus community and is committed to making the Honors Program as inclusive as possible.
Guillot is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Boston University where she studied biology and biological anthropology. Her academic interests have included virology, ecology and human evolution, but she has a particular love of non-human primate behavior and comparative skeletal biology.
She began working at the University of Michigan as a Lecturer in 2006 but quickly found that she wanted more frequent and direct student contact. She became a full-time advisor in 2010.
She has repeatedly visited the Amazonian rainforest of Ecuador and it is one of the most memorable and impactful experiences of her lifetime. She loves hiking, cooking, reading and spending time with her family.
