About
Ana Santory Rodríguez began her undergraduate journey at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, around the time President Barack Obama signed the Puerto Rico Oversight, Management, and Economic Stability Act (PROMESA) into law. At the UPR, Santory Rodríguez majored in Modern Languages, Art History, and Comparative Literature but transferred to Wesleyan University in the aftermath of Hurricane María. Her senior thesis focused on Euripidean Medea’s mastery of discourse, claims to agency, and subversion of identity binaries so as to better understand Agostinho Olavo’s 1960’s Além do Rio (Medea) in light of the socio-political landscape of 20th century Latin America. In 2020, she graduated with honors from Classical Studies with a minor in Art History as a Mellon Mays Fellow — she now looks forward to the next steps at U of M.
