Find Your Community in Digital Studies

Join an inclusive and innovative community of scholars and professionals bringing humanistic inquiry to the study of all things digital and their relationship to power.

The Digital Studies Institute serves as a training ground and home base for graduate students from across U-M interested in studying the social, cultural, and political dimensions of technology. Just as our faculty come together from departments across the University, graduate students connect through coursework, public programs, reading groups, workshops, and other opportunities to build community and explore questions of technology, race, gender, sexuality, disability, inequality, and justice in our increasingly digital world.

Whether you attend a public lecture or coffee hour, participate in Digital IDEAS—our annual summer institute—or pursue the Graduate Certificate in Digital Studies, there are many ways to make DSI part of your graduate experience.
