María del Pilar Álvarez obtained her Bachelor degree in Political Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and a Master Degree in Korean Studies at Yonsei University in 2007. Currently, she is doing her PhD in Social Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires, working on the colonial legacy on contemporary South Korean cinema. She published a couple of articles on historical memories on cinema and also translated into Spanish the book Contemporary Korean Cinema by Hyangjin Lee.
