Hee-soo (Jeon Do-youn), jobless and single in her thirties, is miserable with her life. It is not love that brings them together but $3,500 Hee-soo had lent to Byoung-woon (Ha Jung-woo) a year ago. Byoung-woon is also penniless but surprisingly happy for he knows the girls who are willing to give him money. Afraid Byoung-woon may run off before clearing his debt, Hee-soo follows him as he visits many girls to borrow money, so the two ex-lovebirds set out on a one day journey to collect money, and memory (KOFIC). Two characters wander the streets of Seoul on a lazy Saturday, growing reacquainted with each other’s charms and foibles. As the fourth film of Lee Yoon-ki (This Charming Girl), My Dear Enemy is a charming romantic comedy and one of the rare films that portray the city as another character, similar to what Lost in Translation had achieved years ago.
