Come celebrate Thanksgiving early this year- Korean style!
Chuseok is the traditional harvest festival celebrated in Korea, and The Nam Center welcomes you to experience Korean holiday culture at this event.
U-M students will stage Korean dance and music performances, featuring traditional music as well as contemporary tunes that have become popular worldwide. Also on display are videos highlighting contemporary Korean entertainment. Guests can try their hand at traditional Korean games, such as top spinning, Korean Jacks , and the board game “Yutnori.” Children can build Korean-style kites to take home. And everyone can try making the tasty stuffed rice cakes called “Songpyeon” that are essential for every Chuseok celebration. Plenty of other Korean delicacies will also be served. So bring your friends and family and enjoy Korean hospitality and culture!
This event is free and open to the public of all ages.
