Benshi Ichiro Kataoka will sit down with U-M's Japanese cinema scholar and SAC Chair Markus Nornes, to talk about the history and art of narrating silent films. This is a precious opportunity for audience members to talk to a practicing benshi. Benshi Ichiro Kataoka has residency at U-M through the Center for World Performance Studies, and will be performing for the entire Center for Japanese Studies' Fall Film Series.
