Current research interests:
I received my master's degree in Education and Teaching Chinese as a Second Language from Beijing Language and Culture University, and am currently teaching Mandarin Chinese at the University of Michigan. I play an active role in university-wide activities and participates in collaborative teaching and researching, and have served on the review committee for Lecturers' Professional Development Fund at the University of Michigan. I am also a member of the Chinese Language Teachers Association (CLTA) in the USA.
Current projects:
My professional interests focus on learner- centric practice design and incorporating current material and technology into teaching. My current projects include The Online Interactive Language Exercises for Introductory Chinese, Chinese Character Trainer, an application for touch-screen devices and MOOC: Introduction to Chinese Characters.
Teaching interests:
I am a strong advocate for learner autonomy and learning by doing, I involve my students in task-based exercises and interactive homework assignments.
