Doctoral Student in Asian Languages and Cultures
About
Anna's first passions for language and cinema compelled her to study Hindi in adolescence and later ushered her toward formative experiences in India and South Korea. After training in film heritage preservation and research at the National Film Archive of India and Yonsei University respectively, she participated in the Critical Language Scholarship for both Urdu and Korean.
Her major interests now span South and East Asian parallels in postcolonial historiography, borderlands and narratives of partition, the journey of classical poetry through modern geopolitical transformation, and Urdu foreign language pedagogy.
