Ann Arbor, Michigan, March 12, 2020 - As decisions are being made by the University of Michigan and the Telling It program’s community partners about how best to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak, Deb Gordon-Gurfinkel, Founding Director, announced today the program’s plan that will safeguard the health of the youth served by Telling It in response to the spread of COVID-19.
Avalon Housing has cancelled all after-school programming until further notice. Telling It KIDS at Pauline Apts. and Telling It for Middle School Youth at Carrot Way will not meet until Avalon Housing’s administration states otherwise.
Parkridge Community Center in Ypsilanti has decided to remain open for now. They have acknowledged that their community partners such as Telling It may not offer after-school programming to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
After thoughtful deliberation and careful attention to best public health practices for preventing the spread of COVID-19, Telling It will not provide after-school programming at Parkridge Community Center March 12, 2020 through March 27, 2020. Updates to this will be posted on the website.
