Neuroscience is the study of the nervous system. It is an interdisciplinary field that engages scientists, engineers, and physicians in investigating how the nervous system develops and functions on a cellular level as well as the mechanisms that underlie behavior, cognition, mental disorders, and neurological disease. The Neuroscience Major is an Interdepartmental Program managed by the Undergraduate Program in Neuroscience (UPiN), which represents a collaboration between the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) and the Department of Psychology. Gifts to UPiN ensure that undergraduate students will have opportunities to deepen their understanding of neuroscience, engage in cutting edge research, and prepare for a career in science, medicine, dentistry, industries, and other careers.

Neuroscience Undergraduate Research: Supporting undergraduate research experiences, which is a major cornerstone of the Undergraduate Program in Neuroscience, helping to prepare our students for medical schools, graduate school programs, and jobs in industry.
