Linguistics graduate student alumni Joseph Tyler (PhD , 2012), Mathew Jacqmin-Kramer (M.A., 2022), and Li Yang (PhD, 2009) participated in a panel organized by our graduate committee to talk about careers for linguists in the technology field. They provided insight on where Linguists are needed and how they fit into an ever-changing tech world. They talked about topics such as building linguistic data sets, user-experience writing, interactive conversation design, and more! Additionally, they each reflected on their own careers from linguistics to technology jobs and how their Linguistic studies have aided them in their work.
