There are many Hopwood-sponsored contests open to University of Michigan students. Each contest has a rich history and particular eligibility requirements.
The 2025 rules and guidelines can be found in the document attached below. They replace all previous rules found on the Hopwood website and elsewhere.

- Please create a profile, if you do not have one already, after which you will be able to submit to the Hopwood contests you are eligible for.
- All deadlines are enforced to the minute, with no exceptions.The deadline for this year's contests is at 11:59 pm on January 15th, 2025.
- You are able to remove a contest entry and replace it with an updated entry, as long as the contest is still open and accepting entries. Consider submitting a version in advance of the last day, in case of emergency or personal internet outages. And please plan well enough ahead that you are clicking "submit" well in advance of the deadline.
- No submissions may include, in any way, the name of the person submitting. This includes title pages, headers, and footers, and it includes characters/speakers who share a first, last, or middle name — please consider this when selecting your pen name in the online system. Submissions that do include the submitter's name will be disqualified.
