About

Robert Jeffries Jagers is a developmental psychologist who investigates the complex connections among culture, race, and class and their impact on the social-emotional development of urban youth. He studies how culture influences, and is influenced, by African-American youth and their functioning in the different contexts in which they must negotiate. His work is important for the design of interventions designed to limit risky behaviors and support positive youth development. Jagers is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and received his PhD from Howard University.
