Hi Program in Biology students,
Graduate/Undergraduate Mentorship in Biology (GUMB) is a new student group consisting of graduate students in the biomedical sciences who are interested in reaching out to non-health track undergraduate students interested in the biomedical sciences. We believe we would be a great resource for students interested in pursuing biology research/higher education or alternate biology careers, but we are not usually easily accessible to undergraduates.
The goal of the group is to help bring the two groups of students together. Graduate student mentors will be paired up with undergraduate mentees where mentees can ask mentors about biology graduate school experiences, how they prepared for graduate school in undergrad, etc. We also plan to host events with different groups of graduate students throughout the semester so undergraduates can interact with additional graduate students and ask questions.
If you are interested and would like to learn more, please attend our informational meeting 9/29 (Tuesday) in the SLC lounge in the USB at 5:30pm. Please sign up here so we can gauge interest.
Thanks and hope to see you there!
Amy
