This summer we'll be upgrading John Vandermeer's large scale forest inventory plot at the ES George Reserve to Smithsonian (http://www.sigeo.si.edu/) standards by remeasuring all trees and including all stems greater than 1 cm diameter. EEB alumni Dave Allen will be supervising this project. We will need students participation, and can provide hourly wages or credit. Attached is the flier. Also, at the herbarium we have funds to transcribe specimen label information into a digital format. This interesting project also requires paid student labor, and would provide an interesting experience in biodiversity studies. Contact Christopher Dick (cwdick@umich.edu) if you are interested.
