FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY: PIRGIM is excited to hire more full-time staff to join their team of professional organizers and advocates... Apply by:
PIRGIM Fellowship 2013-2015
For over 30 years, PIRGIM advocates and organizers have stood up for Michiganders against powerful special interests, winning real results to protect consumers, safeguard public health, and defend democracy.
Recently, PIRGIM advocates worked to close the federal corporate tax loopholes that cost ordinary Michigan taxpayers hundreds of dollars each year. We called out corporate tax dodgers in media outlets across the state and mobilized the voices of local small business owners who are left to pick up the tab. Finally, PIRGIM staff met with members of Congress to push for legislation to close the loopholes.
This year, PIRGIM is excited to hire more full-time staff to join our team of professional organizers and advocates. The PIRGIM Field Associate will build a strong statewide coalition to push for open and transparent budgets for Michigan and local communities, mobilize diverse voices ranging from small farmers to public health officials in support of ending wasteful big agribusiness subsidies, and work to generate the tide of public pressure it will take to put power back in the hands of the people in the wake of Citizens United.
We are looking for motivated individuals who are willing to work hard and commit themselves to getting results. We look for people who have leadership experience and who are not afraid of a challenge.
