Do you love writing? Do you love working with your peers to improve their writing skills? If so, The Sweetland Center for Writing’s Peer Writing Consultant Program may have an opportunity for you. We’re presently recruiting undergraduates in any discipline to train to be peer writing consultants. Ideal candidates write well, enjoy collaboration, and demonstrate reliable and conscientious behavior. They will also have at least 24 credits (not counting AP credits) by the start of next semester. Multilingual students are encouraged to apply.

There are two ways to enter the program. On the one hand, you can be nominated by an instructor who is familiar with your writing and interpersonal skills. To earn a nomination, students should demonstrate a strong command of the English language through their written and oral communication skills. On the other hand, if you haven't been nominated by a faculty member, you may nominate yourself by requesting a confidential letter of recommendation from an instructor who is familiar with your writing and interpersonal skills. Ask the instructor to send this letter directly to pwcmilestones@umich.edu.
