Carly Keyes (Writing Minor) won the Hopwood Undergraduate Nonfiction Award for the series of essays she wrote for the Michigan Daily, and two pieces she wrote for her "Art of the Essay" class about her experiences with addiction, and now, her recovery.


Layne Vandenberg (Peer Writing Consultant) was the winner of a prestigious Project Grant from the U-M chapter of Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society. Project Grants are awarded junior, senior, and graduate student applicants for projects directly related to their academic program and career plans.


Zeinab Khalil (Peer Writing Consultant) was awarded the Alumni Association - Senior of the Year Award at the 2014 Michigan Difference Student Leadership Awards. The Student Leadership Awards are designed to recognize and celebrate students at U of M who are doing remarkable things in categories such as social justice, education, arts, and entrepreneurship, and embody the values of the University of Michigan. Zeinab also received a Women's Studies 2014 Feminist Practice Award Honorable Mention.
