Establishing Symbiotic Resource-Based Relationships to Benefit Creative Capability within Arts Communities and Entertainment Organizations
Whether federal, state, private, or non-profit, the organizations that fund and support artists influence not only individual artists, but also the cultural and societal impact of these artists. As a part of a community of artists, I am driven to understand the relationship between organization and artist, and to establish symbiotic connections that both combat resource challenges and benefit artistic capacity. There is a lack of understanding among artists of the role of organizations within the arts. Furthermore, large portions of the organizational and financial world do not understand why artists must continue to create in the face of limited income. With my specific set of artistic skills as a singer and dancer alongside my Organizational Studies experience, I will enter the industry prepared to support artistic investment and represent the Organizational Studies program in the creative world.
