About
What do you appreciate most about the Hub and why?
What I appreciate most about the Hub is its accessibility. There are always events and workshops occurring throughout the year to help answer students’ questions regarding preparation for the professional world. The Hub truly welcomes and encourages all people to use it as a resource and it effectively fulfills its goals of preparing students for experiences outside the classroom.
What did you want to be when you were a freshman in high school, and how have your goals changed shape since you came to U-M?
When I entered high school I imagined having a profession in international politics, but now my interests have shifted from governmental careers to nonprofit work. My time at U-M has allowed me to hone my interest in international affairs while also exploring other subjects I have found myself passionate about like sociology and organization building.
What is it about a liberal arts education that you've found the most exciting or valuable?
What I find most valuable about a liberal arts education is how interdisciplinary it can be. It's fascinating to see how everything connects and how broadly one’s interests can be applied to the professional world. I believe the liberal arts uses this fact to help students to consider a wide range of careers and instill within them a level of confidence that will allow them to succeed in any profession they pursue.
What advice do you have for students for them to get the most out of their time in LSA and at U-M?
I would advise students to take advantage of all the resources the university offers. There are many people, opportunities, and programs available to help students navigate any difficulties they're experiencing or assist them in exploring their interests.
