History Mentorship

Combining the benefits of a large research institution with the personalized attention available at a small liberal arts college, the History Department offers each major access to a personal faculty mentor. Every member of the faculty serves as a mentor to students, so don’t hesitate to contact any member of our faculty whose class inspired you or who works on a topic that interests you.

Your mentor can help you devise a program of study that matches your interests. Your mentor can also offer advice about course selection, direct you toward resources for career planning, and brainstorm about what to do when you’ve finished your degree. Most importantly, your mentor is excited to be a partner for conversation and intellectual exchange!

To select a mentor, just complete the mentorship form (PDF), obtain the mentor’s signature and return the form to the majors’ drop box in the main office. And then don’t hesitate to drop in for a chat.
