About
Duygu is a PhD student in Comparative Literature who is working toward a graduate certificate in German Studies and Film, Television and Media Studies. She graduated from Sociology at Boğaziçi University and did an MA in Turkish Language and Literature at the same university. After Duygu graduated, she studied in an MA program in Comparative Literature at Leiden University. Her dissertation is about the initial media networks and relations in West Germany, which were dominated by people with a migration background from Turkey. She studies how institutions and key people have shaped the post-war intellectual history concerning the politics of life in the context of migration. She is interested in the literature and media history after the post-war labor migration in the context of Germany and Turkey, the relation between politics and aesthetics, and approaches to the concept of life in West Germany.
