David Joez Villaverde

David Joez Villaverde is a writer and interdisciplinary artist teaching at the University of Michigan. He is the winner of Black Warrior Review’s 2018 poetry contest, winner of the Jounal of Narrative Theory's 2020 flash non-fiction contest, the runner up for the 2020 Ryan R. Gibbs Award for Flash Fiction, a finalist for the Antioch-Frontier Fellowship in 2019, and a finalist for Frontier Poetry’s 2019 OPEN. He is a CantoMundo Fellow and recipient of the Tennesse Williams Scholarship at the Sewanee Writers' Conference.  His work has appeared in The Rumpus, Thrush, Rhino, New Delta Review, The Indianapolis Review, Yemassee, Wigleaf, Cosmonauts Avenue, Dreginald, Tinderbox, The Jellyfish Review and elsewhere.
