Economics Alumni Relationship Network

Education is an extremely dynamic concept. Much of the typical undergraduate experience occurs within a classroom setting, however, a well-rounded economics education incorporates external experiences as well. This is where EARN comes into play! With EARN, economics majors are given the opportunity to connect with economists who have gone through the U-M Economics program, to create a strong professional network and to engage one-on-one with successful alumni for valuable mentoring and personalized career advice.

EARN links declared undergraduate students in Economics with leading executives and career professionals who received their Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate from the Department of Economics at U-M. EARN promotes a culture of mentoring that will:

  • Connect current students with alumni and establish professional and productive mentoring relationships
  • Enhance student leadership, creative thinking, interpersonal, and networking skills
  • Encourage alumni to stay connected to current students in Economics at U-M

Program Goals

  • Develop a network of alumni willing to support and advise current students on career goals
  • Facilitate the mutually-beneficial matching of current students with alumni
  • Encourage students to seek and engage with mentors in careers of interest
  • Provide a forum for the observation, practice, and mastery of professional networking skills
